English and Activity courses (boys and girls, aged 8-17)

English: three hours per day of teaching time
Language Activities: 90 minutes per day-Computing, Arts & Crafts, Performing Arts (Music, Dance & Drama)
Sports: 90 minutes per day with a wide range of options
Social activities each evening – disco, quiz, talent show etc
Two full day excursions per week
Our courses are designed to build confidence through clear and intensive classroom teaching in small groups of 12 on average (maximum 15).
Students are streamed by age and ability at the beginning of the courses and placed in a class at the appropriate level. During the course, teachers will monitor students’ progress and students will be tested and awarded an academic report and certificate on departure.
Our teachers design their courses to suit the individual needs of their students using a range of course books and resources. They aim to improve grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and comprehension skills as well as building confidence in communicating through English in everyday life.
English classes take up 3 hours per day of actual teaching time. All English teachers are qualified in teaching English as a Foreign Language and our courses are accredited by the British Council.

Boys and girls aged 8-14 at Caterham School and 12-17 at Dulwich College
3 hours of English classes per day
Multi-activity classes – Arts & Crafts, IT & Computing, Video & Film-making, Performing Arts (Music, Dance & 90 minutes per day Drama)
Sports: 90 minutes per day choosing from a wide range of options
Social activities each evening – disco, quiz, talent show, sports competitions etc
Excursions: two full days per week, one to London and one to e.g. Brighton, Oxford, Chessington
In addition to English classes all students on English and Activity courses will experience a wide range of multi-activities, giving them the opportunity to develop new skills whilst using their spoken English in a real context. Each day students move on to a new Language Activity:
IT and Computing
Video and Film-making
Arts & Crafts
Performing Arts (Music, Dance and Drama)
Classes last for 90 minutes and are taught by subject specialists who liaise closely with the English teachers to ensure that the total course content remains balanced, coherent and relevant.
